The Student Representative Council (SRC) at Bendigo South East College plays a pivotal role in shaping the school’s culture and student activities. This year, our SRC has been particularly dynamic, championing student interests and organizing memorable events. The council, led by college captains Meg Pearce and Stephanie Mayes, includes dedicated members Anabelle Dashwood, Zav Wilbern, Ivy Bray, Ella McKinnon, Brooke Ludeman, and Isabella Raven.
With a commitment to using their voices for positive change, our SRC has led a variety of initiatives. They’ve taken charge of our whole school assemblies and organized a respectful Anzac Day service, highlighting their ability to handle both leadership and the logistics of large events.
Fundraising is another area where the SRC has shined brightly. This year, they raised an impressive $1,047.34 for the Good Friday Appeal by selling hot cross buns and raffling hampers. Their efforts didn’t stop there; they also hosted IDAHOBIT Day with our wellbeing leaders and supported the BSE Swimming Carnival, ensuring these events were enjoyable and inclusive for everyone.
Harmony Week was another highlight, with the SRC hosting activities that celebrated diversity and promoted unity among students.
Looking ahead, the SRC is excited to bring even more fun and engaging activities to our school. Their enthusiasm and commitment to making BSE a better place for all students are truly inspiring.
We are proud of what our SRC has accomplished so far and are eager to support them in their upcoming endeavors. Keep an eye out for more exciting SRC activities as they continue to lead and bring our school community together.
