PRINCIPAL’S WELCOME

It is my honour and a pleasure to welcome you to the 2024 school year! I hope you all have had a relaxing summer break. I am extremely proud to serve as the Principal of this amazing learning community for the 6th year and to continue to support the students of BSE! This year, the theme is “Affirmative Actions”. As a college, we will be infusing this concept in all that we do. As has been our vision at BSE, we will continue to strive for academic excellence and social and emotional well-being for our students while looking through a lens of equity and inclusion. With that said, the BSE staff are excited to kick this year off with meeting all families and students via the ‘Ready to Learn Interviews’!

I would like to welcome all our new families, whether you are joining us from another school in Bendigo or have relocated from another city, state, or country. We are excited to share with you all that BSE has to offer and believe you will soon feel as we do, that BSE is a special place for allchildren. Our educators, support staff, families, and other education partners are ready to welcome you into the BSE way.

Our teachers and staff are eager to meet their new students and begin this year’s journey with them. The dedicated staff at BSE have been working tirelessly to finalise classes and schedules, engage in professional learning opportunities, and update our instructional model, class routines, and expectations, all with the goal of fostering academic success and a true sense of connectedness and belonging for our students. Our focus this year will be the start of our journey using the School Wide Positive Behaviour program to ensure student engagement in our learning program. The program at BSE combines the base study of the Victorian F-10 curriculum and real-time learning within cutting-edge industries alongside specialisation in athlete development and the arts community. Your child will thrive in our vibrant college where they will be challenged and engaged by a diverse curriculum. Our 1:1 Laptop program provides authentic, integrated ways to solve problems, complete projects and extend the learning environment. Every student will benefit from the focused learning culture at BSE.
