A touch of generosity
Samantha Parrott is keen to make a difference and help others. Since grade 5, the shy 16-year-old has helped raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation through an annual Purple Day.
Along the way, she is also raising awareness among her peers and wider community “The more people that know about Epilepsy Foundation, the greater their impact,” Samantha says.
Samantha and friends promoted this year’s March 23 Purple Day at the College with brightly coloured posters and spread the word through talking with others. Staff and fellow students wore pops of purple with their school uniform in return for a gold-coin donation. A lunchtime food stall also helped raise vital funds.
While school is over for the day, you can keep those donations coming in via Sam’s Epilepsy Foundation fundraising page at purpleday2017.everydayhero.com/au/a-touch-of-purple-samantha-parrott
Samantha says she’ll keep everyone posted on how her fundraising efforts go.
